You'll turn heads on your wedding day with this stunning '20s-inspired bridal headdress. Combine draped pearls with modern studs for a nod to Givenchy, and the ultimate bridal style statement.
1. Create the Studded Headband
Thread a head pin through seven of the 11 studs. Bend 90 degrees, cut 1cm away from the stud and turn a loop with round nose pliers.
Lay out the studs as shown below. Starting with the centre stud, glue them onto the band using industrial-strength glue, like E-6000. Ensure they are equally spaced apart.
Allow the glue to dry on the headband.
2. Create the Central Gemstone Feature
Lay out your gemstones to make a symmetrical pattern and cut a piece of clear plastic to fit underneath.
Glue the gemstones onto the plastic strip
Leave to dry and attach to the middle stud using a jump ring.
3. Attach the Pearls
Roughly measure the length of the first and smallest string of pearls. Remember there will be cord ends at each end. Cut two pieces this length.
Using flat nose pliers, squeeze the circular cord ends firmly over the end of the pearls.
Attach one end of the string of pearls to the central gem motif using a 9mm jump ring. Now attach the other end to the loop on the second stud from the middle using a 5mm jump ring.
Repeat these steps to attach three more strands of pearls, as shown below.
4. Attach the Final Strand of Pearls and the Focal Gemstone
Measure the final length of pearl strand. Unlike the other strands, this will need to drape from one side of the headband, to the middle gemstone, and then over to the other side of the headband.
Attach both ends to the last studs on the band with 5mm jump rings.
Find the middle of this last strand and thread it onto one final 9mm jump ring. Thread your focal stone onto this jump ring and attach it to the bottom of the gem motif.
