Gnome Plush (Free Sewing Pattern)I’ve recently read ‘The Little Grey Men’ and it made me come up with so many gnome craft ideas! The first thing that popped in my mind was a gnome plush of course! I know I know, the internet is already filled with tons of gnome plush crafts but I wanted to make a relatively easy one so that the beginners can find it handy. This gnome plush project comes with a free pattern and super easy to make. I absolutely LOVED making these and I hope you enjoy sewing 1 or 2 as well. So what are you waiting for! Grab some felts, needle and thread and get going! List of Supplies
TemplateDownload the template PDF file from below TutorialStep 1Download the provided template on an A4 size sheet and cut out the patterns from the paper. Select felt fabrics for this craft and use a pen to trace the template patterns on the selected felts. Cut out the traced patterns using scissors. The template includes 2 body patterns, 2 hat patterns, 1 round nose, 1 beard, 2 leaves, and a cherry pattern. Step 2Take any 1 of the body cutouts, the nose, and the beard patterns. Place the selected body cutout on a flat surface and place the beard relatively on the middle part of the body and then place the nose on the top side of the body cutout but by overlapping half of the nose with the beard’s top end. Now prepare a needle with matching thread (with the nose). Place the 2 hat patterns together as well. Step 3Keeping the bottom straight side of the hat open, stitch the rest around the side. Stitch the overlapped part of the nose and the beard; also making sure to attach the body cutout with them while stitching. Place the stitched body pattern of the gnome on the other plain body cutout. Prepare a needle with matching thread and start to stitch around the side of the body cutouts. Step 4Use scrap felt pieces to stuff the hat through the bottom open end. Keep a small opening for stuffing the gnome body pattern. Step 5Use scrap felt to stuff the body pattern as well. Make sure not to stuff too much, keep it nice and fluffy. Stitch the small opening of the gnome body pattern to secure the stuffing. Tie a knot and draw the needle through the gnome plush randomly and again drawing the needle out. Cut off extra thread if necessary. Step 6Place and push the head side of the felt gnome inside the felt hat through its open end. Step 7Place the cherry and leaf patterns on the hat and stitch them with the hat. Tie a knot and cut off extra thread once you’re done the stitching. Grab more colorful felt fabrics and make more gnome plushies!
